The hosts of The Talk were joined by DailymailTV host Jesse Palmer on Tuesday to discuss some of the big showbiz stories this week.

The hot topic up for debate was reality star Kylie Jenner’s recent revelation that she got cosmetic surgery because of a comment a boy made about her lips when she was 15. 

Sara Gilbert was the first to weigh-in, admitting she could never change her appearance based on someone else’s opinion – because it wouldn’t be authentic.

‘For better or worse I think for the most part anything I do that doesn’t feel authentic to me, even if it’s something I’m wearing, my skin crawls.

‘It’s hard for me to change who I am for anybody else.’ the former Roseanne actress added.

Jesse, 38, introduced the subject along with before and after photos of Kylie, 20, which flashed up on screen to gasps from the audience.

He posed the question to the hosts ‘Have you guys ever had an incident happen in your own lives that prompted you to change something about yourself?’

Julie Chen revealed that she was made fun of at school in third grade because of her Chinese accent so she would talk slower to make sure she pronounced the word right.

‘I remember trying so hard and it made me self conscious.’ she confessed.

‘It’s amazing at that age how impressionable you are. It can be from a total stranger but that’s something that can stay with you for the rest of your lives.’ Jesse added.

Co-host Sheryl Underwood felt that Kylie was wrong for going under the knife so young.

In Sunday’s episode of Life of Kylie the surgically enhanced teen sat down for a session with a therapist and revealed a boy she had kissed made an offhand remark that did damage to her psyche.

‘I was 15 and I was insecure about my lips … I [had] really small lips,

‘It was like one of my first kisses and a guy was like, “I didn’t think you would be a good kisser because you have such small lips,”‘ she said, adding that she ‘took that really hard.’

She continued, ‘Just when a guy you like says that, I don’t know, it just really affected me – I just didn’t feel desirable or pretty.

Kylie that she ‘really wanted bigger lips’ and was compelled to try and use makeup to compensate for what she felt she was lacking in: ‘I would overline my lips with lip liner just to create the illusion of bigger lips.’

But eventually she nixed that fix, opting to undergo cosmetic surgery to enhance her lips. She said, ‘Finally I was like, “This lip liner isn’t doing it,”‘ adding that she ‘ended up getting [her] lips done.’
