Being nominated for a Best Actress Oscar is the ultimate honor.

But Natalie Portman has revealed she will not be able to attend the Academy Awards on Sunday. 

‘Due to my pregnancy, I am unable to attend the Independent Spirit Awards and the Academy Awards,’ the heavily pregnant star told the Hollywood Reporter.

‘I feel so lucky to be honored among my fellow nominees and wish them the most beautiful of weekends.’ 

At the Academy awards, Natalie has been nominated for the Best Actress Oscar for her portrayal of former first lady Jackie Kennedy in the biopic Jackie.

She was also nominated for best female lead at the Independent Spirit Awards which are taking place today in Los Angeles.

The 35-year-old is due any day with her second child with French choreographer husband Benjamin Millepied.

The couple are already parents to five-year-old son Aleph.

Meanwhile, Matt Damon, Jennifer Aniston and Meryl Streep have been newly announced as presenters for the Academy Awards on Sunday.

The trio will join Jason Bateman, Ryan Gosling, Salma Hayek, Taraji P. Henson, Warren Beatty, Sofia Boutella, Faye Dunaway, Michael J. Fox, Dev Patel, Seth Rogen, Octavia Spencer and Vince Vaughn as they hand out accolades at the annual movie awards.

Producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd previously announced that Amy Adams, Riz Ahmed, Javier Bardem, Halle Berry, John Cho, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Dornan, Chris Evans, Gael García Bernal, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Dakota Johnson, Dwayne Johnson, Felicity Jones, Brie Larson, Shirley MacLaine, Leslie Mann, Kate McKinnon, Janelle Monáe, David Oyelowo, Mark Rylance, Hailee Steinfeld, Emma Stone, Charlize Theron and Alicia Vikander will all take to the stage at the ceremony.

At the ceremony, La LaLand leads the nominations with 14 nods – equalling the record set by 1997 movie ‘Titanic’ – in categories including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Production Design.

The musical’s leading man, Gosling, is in the running for Best Actor but faces competition from’Manchester By The Sea star Casey Affleck, Hacksaw Ridge’s Andrew Garfield, Captain Fantastic’s Viggo Mortensen and Fences actor Denzel Washington.

And in the Best Actress category, La La Land has another nomination for Emma Stone, who will face off against Elle star Isabelle Huppert, Loving’s Ruth Negga, Jackie’s Natalie Portman, and Florence Foster Jenkins actress Meryl Streep.

Jimmy Kimmel is this year’s Oscars host.
