Rihanna has canceled her Grammy performance at the last moment.

The 27-year-old pulled out with bronchitis as the show was running, according to TMZ.

The singer had arrived at the Staple’s Center on Sunday night, but did not walk the red carpet.

She even went to rehearsals, performing her somewhat ironic song Kiss It Better twice, but decided at the 11th hour not to go on stage.

The website claimed doctors warned her on site that pushing ahead could have ‘permanently damaged her vocal cords’.

She reluctantly conceded and left after rehearsals, deciding against sticking around to watch the show.

Her rep confirmed to Billboard that the singer had been on medication to treat the infection for three days, but the meds ‘did not kill the infection adequately’.

They added she was now on vocal rest for 48 hours because she ‘was at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal cords’. 

The Barbadian will be devastated she didn’t get to capitalise on the momentum following the long anticipated release of her latest album, Anti, which she finally unveiled for free via Tidal on January 28.

Nevertheless Rihanna did get to partake in the Grammys somewhat, performing at the MusiCares Person of the Year honoring Lionel Richie at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Saturday.
