Earlier this month Heidi Pratt revealed that she was three months pregnant with her first child.

But her sister-in-law Stephanie, 31, has now admitted to OK! magazine that she was kept in the dark about her brother Spencer’s big baby news before the public announcement.

Stephanie, whose strained relationship with her brother and his wife was played out on The Hills, has now sent her congratulations to the couple – despite not having been told in person.

The reality star told the magazine: ‘I had no idea Heidi was pregnant. Spencer and Heidi tend to do things in their own way. I’m really happy for them both.’

Stephanie then explained that she believes her sister-in-law will be a natural mother.

She added: ‘Heidi has wanted a kid for ten years, she’s born to be a mum.’

Heidi, 30, and her husband Spencer, 33, married in 2009 and say they have wanted a baby for years.

The happy couple told US Weekly they only spent one month trying for baby before Heidi woke Spencer up one morning, beaming, to announce she was pregnant. 

Spencer told the magazine:  ‘The look on her face, I can’t even describe it. She was literally glowing. I thought she was about to say she made muffins or banana bread,’ but instead she told him the happy news and subsequently burst into tears.

Confirming what his sister Stephanie said today, the star added: ‘Heidi has wanted to be a mom since the day I met her. She has planned and thought about this.’

He explained that the couple only waited this long because of work and other commitments.

The announcement comes just weeks after Heidi posted a clip congratulating her ex co-stars Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port, who are also expecting their first babies.

Coincidentally, Heidi explained on the Faithwire YouTube channel at the time: 

‘It seems like 2017 is the year to get pregnant. First and foremost, a huge congratulations to my two former co-stars Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port, who are both expecting.

‘I have been planning for my own family and I am very excited for them, and it stirs up excitement with what’s going to be coming up in my life hopefully soon too. And I think, on that note, it’s important to not compare [your life] to other people’s.

‘Obviously I have been wanting children and I’m excited for it, but it hasn’t been the right timing for me. So I think in life it’s important for us to pray and prioritize God’s timing in our lives and not compare [our life] to other people’s. Because we’re all different and we all have different things going on.’

And although Stephanie is now happily ensconced with rugby hunk Ollie Lindsay, she admits he is baffled by her ex Joey Essex’s publicly expressed hatred of her.

The TOWIE original recently joked about their relationship only lasting three months and critiqued the romance as not ‘balanced’.

Stephanie told the magazine: ‘He hates me! I have no idea why he dislikes me so much but he did In Bed With Jamie [Laing] and said some rude things about me. We broke up over the phone when I was in LA and I’ve not seen him since.’ 

The couple, who struck up an unlikely romance on the E4 series Celebs Go Dating, went their separate ways in October last year.
