  • Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace took to Instgram to express her ‘disgust’
  • She said the estate had not approved using the image, which could be grounds for a lawsuit
  • Sharon and Kelly Osbourne also responded harshly on social media after the reality stars used an image of Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy on a shirt
  • By Thursday afternoon Kendall and Kylie both issued an apology
  • They added they had pulled the shirts and took down images of the tops

Kendall and Kylie Jenner have sent out an apology after placing their images on top of vintage T-shirts featuring musical giants to sell on kendall-kylie.com for $125 a pop.

On Thursday afternoon the sisters shared a note on Twitter that read they were ‘very sorry’ and meant no ‘disrespect.’ They also insisted it was just not a well ‘thought out’ idea.

This comes after critics slammed the Keeping Up With The Kardashians stars on social media for using the faces of famed rock legends – two of them who are dead – to make a profit.

Even Notorious B.I.G’s mother Voletta Wallace spoke out on Instagram saying they have exploited the deaths of the rap star. And, according to TMZ, the lawyer for the Biggie estate sent out a cease and desist letter.

The tops feature sexy images of the reality TV stars over the faces of music legends like Tupac, Biggie, Metallica, Kiss, Ozzy Osbourne, The Doors and Pink Floyd.

‘These designs were not well thought out and we deeply apologize to anyone that has been upset and/or offended, especially to the families of the artists,’ the Jenner sisters’ note began.

It was added: ‘We are huge fans of their music and it was not our intention to disrespect these cultural icons in anyway.

‘The tee shirts have been pulled from retail and all images have been removed.

‘We will use this as an opportunity to learn from these mistakes and again, we are very sorry.’

Biggie’s mom Wallace sent out her angry note on Thursday: ‘The disrespect of these girls to not even reach out to me or anyone connected to the estate baffles me. I have no idea why they feel they can exploit the deaths of 2pac and my Son Christopher to sell a t-shirt.’

The mom added an image of the shirt with a big red X over it.

Next to the shirt it reads: ‘This product has no affiliation to the Notorious B.I.G. estate.’ It was added: ‘The estate was never contacted about using the likeness of Biggie.’

Biggie was killed in 1997.

Ozzy Osbourne’s wife and manager Sharon Osbourne  also called out the Jenners for appropriating an image of the Black Sabbath rocker.

She tweeted: ‘Girls, you haven’t earned the right to put your face with musical icons. Stick to what you know…lip gloss.’

Some tweeters had noted that the stars are trying to make a quick buck off the rock icons and are ‘stealing.’

‘Who tf told Kendall and Kylie it was chill to use Pac and Biggie as a background for themselves on their graphic tees? Cause no,’ wrote tweeter Sydnie.

Nany added: ‘This Kendall And Kylie vintage tee line is really blowing mine! How are you gonna put your Insta pic over biggie & call it vintage?! & PAC?!’

Others think it’s a cheap shot: ‘It’s literally a tee w/ their old insta pics on it,’ noted Chels who added confused-looking emojis.

‘Imma sue y’all and all the people who buy the Tupac and Biggie ones,’ added 4ugustine on the Kendall-Kylie Instagram page.

It is not known if other musicians have complained about use of their image on the shirts.

Paris Jackson, daughter of the late King Of Pop, also chimed in on the controversy.

The model and actress tweeted: ‘pink floyd is not chanel. led zeppelin is not michael kors. metallica is not givenchy. don’t get it twisted. #bandsnotbrands #RESPECTMUSIC.’

‘legends like these who completely changed our world today, not just the music world, should be respected and honored. not turned into this,’ Paris added.

‘as a huge fan of zeppelin, the doors, floyd.. i mean these bands literally helped shape who i am today. i can’t condone this “fashion.” ‘

Thursday’s apology is a first for Kendall who remained publicly silent in the face of an outcry over her Pepsi commercial back in April.

The ad featured the reality star offering a can of soda to a police officer as cops and protesters faced each other down.

She and the beverage giant were accused of co-opting the Black Lives Matter movement to market the fizzy drink.

Pepsi moved quickly to issue an apology and pulled the commercial. There was no word from Kendall.

She was also seen in a promotional video for the Fyre music festival during fans to purchase $250,000 tickets to attend the weekend event in the Caribbean.

The festival turned out to be a fiasco, with participants arriving on the island in The Bahamas to find chaos, substandard accommodation and food and no entertainment.

Model Bella Hadid, who had also appeared in the video, took to social media to apologize for her part in promoting it. But once again, Kendall said nothing.
